Website speed
Is a slow website making enquiries harder?
Key takeaway
Website speed matters most when a customer is trying to do something useful. Check whether they can read your service, find your contact details and complete an enquiry on a phone. Good hosting and CDN help delivery, while clear pages and an easy update process help keep the journey useful.

Follow the journey to the enquiry
Imagine a customer looking for your service on a phone. They need to understand what you offer, decide whether you can help and find a way to contact you. A long wait at any step makes that task harder.
Start with your important service page rather than testing only the homepage. Follow the contact or booking route yourself. Note where the customer waits, gets confused or has to look for information. Speed and clear communication belong in the same review.
Watch what happens after the first screen
A page can appear quickly and still pause when you tap a button. A picture arriving late can move the button away from your finger. Google’s Core Web Vitals describe loading, response to an interaction and visual stability, which are useful ways to discuss those problems.
Check the actual task as well as the report. Does the enquiry button work? Are fields easy to use? Is the phone number current? A good speed score does not answer every business question.

Give useful information a quick route
AWS hosting and Amazon CloudFront CDN form part of our delivery setup. A CDN can reuse suitable public files through delivery locations nearer visitors, reducing repeated work for the original server. CloudFront is included in both hosting plans.
That foundation works alongside the website. Sensibly sized pictures, restrained code and a clear layout still matter. If a page needs a more substantial repair or rebuild, we assess and agree the work before starting.

Make it easy to keep the page useful
A current phone number or a clearer service description can matter as much as a nicer opening animation. On the Lightning plan, ask Arc to update wording, use your uploaded pictures or make simple layout moves. Preview the result and approve it before publication.
That gives you a practical way to act on the small things you notice. Complex changes and larger redesigns need separate agreed scope. We do not promise that a particular edit will produce a certain number of enquiries.
Choose a service that supports the business
Thunder is NZ$55 + GST per website a month. Lightning is NZ$99 + GST with everyday Arc updates, subject to fair use. Both include free domain registration, DNS, SSL, platform security, daily AWS website backups and CloudFront CDN.
Tell us where the website feels difficult for a customer. We can assess the hosting and moving route and agree any separate work. Hosting billing starts when the website is live with us, so you can review the proposed setup before recurring hosting begins.
