Only needed when you’re moving your domain registration.
First, check whether you need a code
Moving website hosting does not necessarily mean moving your domain registration. If you’re keeping the domain where it is, we’ll guide the required DNS changes instead.
Find your authorisation code
In GoDaddy Domain Portfolio, select the domain, open Transfer, and choose Transfer to Another Registrar. Review the checklist, continue and complete any identity check. Copy the authorisation code. GoDaddy also sends it to the registrant email.
Keep it private
Use the secure handover method we provide. Don’t post the code in a public comment or screenshot. Transfer eligibility and unlock steps depend on your domain.
