Will moving my website affect my email?
Your website can move while your email stays right where it is.
Domain registration is included
Both Thunder and Lightning include free domain registration and DNS. If you already have a domain, you can use it with Lightning and keep your existing registrar, or ask us for help with a transfer.
Tell us who handles your email
Your website, email and domain can be with different providers. Let us know whether you use Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, your current host or something else. “I’m not sure” is a useful answer too.
We check before changing
We check known DNS records and request the full record list or provider access where needed. Public DNS lookups can’t guarantee that every record has been found. We preserve the records your email relies on.
Keep the old service until the handover is checked
Some providers bundle DNS or email with hosting or registration. Confirm what will stop before cancelling anything. If mailboxes need moving too, we agree that work separately.
